Ian Stanley

Before coming to the Bar, Ian practised as a partner in the revenue law groups of Allen Allen & Hemsley and Malleson Stephen Jaques, specialising in income tax, with some exposure to stamp duty, indirect and employment taxes. Ian gained his first exposure to tax at Arthur Andersen & Co where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He worked for that firm in both Sydney and London.

Ian’s practice at the bar continues to focus on many areas of revenue law, also advising and appearing in commercial and equity disputes.

Ian's continuing focus on revenue law allows Ian to advise on current proposals and transactions and not be confined to advising and appearing in matters in dispute.
